Porto’s landmark alternative club
Plano B has been the anchor of Porto’s alternative and electronic scene since 2006, set over two floors on Rua de Cândido dos Reis, the city’s main late-night strip in Baixa. Downstairs, the concrete ‘Cubo’ handles house and techno; upstairs and around, hip-hop and R&B take over, and live concerts drop in throughout the programme. It’s a proper club with real booking clout rather than a bar that stays open late.
Who you’ll find here
The crowd is young, local and heavily studenty — Erasmus students and Porto regulars who treat this as the default end-of-night dancefloor. Nightlife and dating guides alike name it among the core Cândido dos Reis venues to meet people, and the split of rooms means there’s a floor for most moods. It’s a dance-and-mingle club, sociable through the music rather than through any door-policy gimmick.
Drinks, music and hours
Entry usually runs €10 to €15, rising toward €20 for headline DJs, with club-priced drinks inside. The two-floor split — techno in the Cubo, hip-hop elsewhere — keeps the night moving, and the live concerts are a genuine draw. It opens Tuesday to Saturday, and on Friday and Saturday runs to 06:00, so weekend nights here are a commitment to the small hours.

One caveat: the venue’s own website is currently unreachable, so check line-ups and tickets on Resident Advisor, DICE or its Facebook page before you go. It’s right on the Cândido dos Reis strip, steps from Galeria de Paris, so it slots into a wider Baixa crawl or works as the destination you build toward. Cards are accepted; the crowd is English-friendly. Come for the booking, stay for the floor.
