Luxury on the south bank
Lux Trafaria opened in 2021 with 42 suites in Trafaria, on the Almada side of the Tagus — twenty minutes from Lisbon over the Ponte 25 de Abril, or a ferry ride if you prefer your discretion nautical — and minutes from the Costa da Caparica beaches. It bills itself as a luxury motel, and the themed range makes a reasonable case for the adjective.
From mirrors to a private pool
The suites run from mirror and swing rooms through a Grey Room and a Secret Room to exterior-jacuzzi and private-pool territory, with an adapted accessible suite in the mix. The Clássica starts at €70 for four hours (packs obligatory); the Jacuzzi Kings, Queens and Princesses run €120 to €310. Press coverage put the Real pool suite at up to €400 for a full day.
Their words, not ours
The house states its format plainly: the entrance is discreet, every room has a private garage, and there is no visual contact — ‘não existe qualquer contacto visual’. You choose your own start time, drive into your suite’s garage, and the entire stay happens without crossing paths with another human being who isn’t the one you brought.
The fine print
An extra person costs €40, to a maximum of four per suite, and breakfast is folded into 16- and 24-hour stays. Decoration packs, room-service meals, vouchers and a loyalty card round out the offer, and a first reservation earns 10% off. Bookings go through luxtrafariamotel.com or +351 927 384 020.
