Molhe — O Molhe, ‘The Pier’ — is built into the Forte de Nossa Senhora da Conceição on the harbour pier at the end of Estrada da Pontinha, out on the Funchal waterfront. It’s an upscale, open-air restaurant-club that makes full use of its setting: stone fort walls, two to three music rooms, and a terrace with sea views. Part fine-dining venue, part weekend club, it’s one of the most distinctive going-out spots in the city.
