A garden deck by the Clérigos Tower
Base Porto is an open-air garden bar built on a raised deck beside the Clérigos Tower, off the Passeio dos Clérigos promenade on Rua das Carmelitas in central Porto. It stands out for being genuinely outdoors in the middle of the city — grass underfoot, sofas and picnic-style seating, and the tower rising alongside.
A laid-back sunset spot
The mood is relaxed and casual, one of Porto’s most popular outdoor drinking spots for sunset and pre-dinner drinks. The lawn seating and tower views pull a mixed crowd, and some nights a DJ or music adds to the atmosphere without turning it into a club.
Drinks on the lawn
Cocktails, beer, sangria and snacks are served across the deck, at mid-range tourist pricing. There is no hard programme — the setting does the work, which is why it fills up as the light drops.
